Chattanooga, TN / April 12-16, 2019 / chattfilmfest.org
2014, the Chattanooga Film Festival has rapidly developed a solid rep as a back-to-basics exhibition of noteworthy cinema. On the genre circuit, it has become a key destination for Southern fans in search of the best fear fare, shown in both its main CFFeatures and MES After Hours categories. It treats aspiring auteur attendees right, as well: “Chattanooga is a moviemaker’s festival,” says a panelist. “With field trips, film lectures, live script readings, and a never-ending waterfall of whiskey, moviemakers bond deeply and friendships are forged.” The guest list hasn’t been too shabby either; among past attendees are such cult figures as Elijah Wood, Clint Howard, Bobcat Goldthwait, and Joe Bob Briggs.
