There’s a true sense of community at Horrible Imaginings, now in its eighth year of bringing together the people who craft ghastly entertainment and those who love it. “Horrible Imaginings continues to grow, and it’s so well put together,” says a panelist. “The love shown by the organizers makes it clear that it’s for the people and the moviemakers.” Under director Miguel Rodriguez, a diverse range of features, shorts, and student films is presented here, and their creators are encouraged to network via panels and other events. In addition to the people behind the new movies, Horrible Imaginings invites figures from past favorites; this year, they included Witchboard and Night of the Demons director Kevin Tenney (who received the fest’s first Banquo’s Ghost Award for lifetime achievements in horror moviemaking) and Suspiria (1977) actress Barbara Magnolfi.
