“True Love Waits” by Radiohead
Shults: It’s one of my favorite Radiohead songs. With what that song is about I honestly don’t now what other track could end Waves, even though it doesn’t literally end the movie. It’s a spiritual ending because it’s connecting all these characters together and where they are at in that moment. I don’t know for a fact, but from what I’ve read about, why that song finally came out and why it came out in that rendition with the piano, and what Thom Yorke had gone through in his life and with a lover, that’s really beautiful to me. All those reasons together made it fell so spiritually and emotionally right.
