Shults: It’s a journey to a very dark night, and it’s important to have that kind of propulsion from track to track. It starts with the Fuck Buttons, which is an instrumental track. It feels dark and looming because that’s where Tyler’s headspace is. He’s revving himself up, and the movie is revving up in his same headspace, so we’re entering his head through that. That’s the main reason for it.
