Monty Python’s Life of Brian (1979)
Monty Python takes on the story of Jesus, with a film that satirizes all the pomposity of the greatest sword and sandal epics with take-no-prisoners glee.
Great bits abound, none better than the deranged cheeriness of the final musical number, “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life,” set during a mass crucifixion.
