Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley in Alien (1986)
In one of her most iconic roles, Sigourney Weaver plays Ellen Ripley in 1979’s Alien, a warrant officer on board the spaceship Nostromo that’s on its way to Earth from a planet called Thedus. But things quickly spiral out of control when an alien invader enters the spaceship and begins wreaking havoc.
Ellen Ripley ends up being the hero of this extraterrestrial story. Without spoiling the ending, let’s just say she shows the alien who’s boss.
