The Missing File
Another confusing detail in the Jennifer Pandos case is the disappearance of her original case file from 1987. The police department handling the case told Stephen in 2009 that the file had been misplaced sometime over the last two decades. But some years later, the file mysteriously reappeared in the police records room that had already been searched multiple times.
There was some question as to whether someone in law enforcement had been working with Ron Pandos to give him the file so that he could find out how much the police suspected his involvement. But when the file was finally located, the information in it, and the new leads the police followed, did not indicate that the parents were involved at all.
As of the final episode of the docuseries, Stephen has begun to reevaluate his previous suspicions of his parents.
