The masterful horror director enlisted Morricone for his horror sci-fi classic The Thing, and the film is terrifyingly punctuated by the menacing pulse of its main theme.
Though it is almost impossible to believe now, Morricone’s score was nominated for the 1983 Razzie. Truly an embarrassing nomination, in hindsight.
