Thanks to Morricone, Terrence Malick’s film is not only pleasant to look at, but moving to listen to.

Morricone added another BAFTA to his awards cabinet for this wonderfully delicate piece of music. It also earned him his very first Oscar nomination.

Would Days of Heaven be as intoxicating with Morricone? It’s impossible to say, because its impossible to separate his romantic score from the sumptuous, unforgettable images provided by Malick.
