5 Essential Ennio Morricone Scores

The Untouchables

Put Brian De Palma’s name on the list of great directors who benefitted from a Morricone score. De Palma’s crime opus won a BAFTA for best original score.

This is the music we play when everything seems impossible and we want to feel inspired.

We especially love the end title music, which for us recalls the romance and sweep of George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue,” with a gangster twist, of course, in keeping with the movie’s theme: The desperate fight by a ragtag group of do-gooders, led by Kevin Costner’s Elliot Ness, as they try to bring down Al Capone (Robert De Niro.)
