Audition (1999)
Directed by Japanese horror master Takashi Miike and based on the 1997 novel by Ryu Murakami, Audition tells the story of wily but not entirely honest widower who stages a fake audition to meet a new love. Gross. He quickly falls for Shigeharu Aoyama (Eiha Shiina, above) who makes him swear to love only her.
Sadly, she decides he’s broken that promise, and a lot of very horrible torture ensues.
