Marriage Story (available on Netflix)

Baumbach shot his previous Netflix feature, The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) on 16mm, and Irish cinematographer Robbie Ryan returns to shoot Baumbach’s deeply personal divorce drama on 35mm this time around. This is not Baumbach’s first autobiographical take on divorce, and his first feature, the lauded The Squid and the Whale, was shot on 16mm by regular Wes Anderson collaborator Robert D. Yeoman.
