Ari Aster’s incredible second feature film Midsommar is remembered more for the spooky Swedish town and its murderous village antics than for its opening scene, but it’s one of the most creepy horror movie scenes.

With a sharp cut from a pleasant, if ominous, view of a snow-covered forest to a view of the main character Dani’s (Florence Pugh) family home, we learn that Dani’s sister has murdered her parents in their sleep with carbon monoxide poisoning.
