According to Vocativ, Kai’s many fans and supporters that he gained via his internet fame had come to his aid after he was arrested, even holding a fundraiser for his legal defense, hanging up “Free Kai” posters, and even flying to visit him in the New Jersey jail where he still resides to this day.
But a Facebook fan group that once had 10,000 followers vanished in April 2016, and his internet popularity began to wane.
