Jeffrey Dahmer looks to be the next subject of Joe Berlinger’s Conversations With a Killer series on Netflix; the trailers for Bodies Bodies Bodies and The Black Phone David Harbour will star in a hockey movie from Cooper Raiff. All in today’s Movie News Rundown.

Jeffrey Dahmer: Might just be the subject of Joe Berlinger’s next Conversations With a Killer series on Netflix, following Ted Bundy and John Wayne Gacy. He couldn’t confirm it for certain, since nothing has been officially announced yet, but he told me Dahmer is “a pretty good bet.” Read the full story here.

Go Trashers: David Harbour is set to star as Jimmy Galante in Cooper Raiff’s upcoming feature The Trashers from 30West. It follows the true story of Galante, the Connecticut trash tycoon who once owned a fan-favorite, rough-and-tumble minor-league hockey team called the Danbury Trashers. The New York Post has described Galante as “the real-life Tony Soprano,” and his son is named A.J., just like Tony’s.

If You Like That: You can learn more about the Trashers and Galante — who was arrested on 72 criminal charges in 2006, thus ending the Trashers’ famous winning streak — from the Crime and Penalties episode of Netflix’s sports documentary series Untold. I wrote these stories here and here about Galante and his aforementioned son A.J., who briefly served as a famously young GM of a sports team. His father gave him the job of managing the Trashers when he was just 17 years old.

One More Thing: I would love to see them cast Robert Iler from The Sopranos as A.J. opposite David Harbour. Or would that be too on the nose?

Hooray, Austin Film Festival: For launching the Uplifting Storytellers Initiative as well as the new Blackmagic Collective Emerging Filmmakers Fellowship Award. The initiative is meant to increase representation for underrepresented communities through career-focused enrichment programs. And the winner of the Fellowship Award will receive a Blackmagic Design Pocket 6K Pro camera and a screening slot at the BMC Film Festival in Los Angeles.

The Black Phone Trailer: Watch Ethan Hawke star as the chilling villain The Grabber in this new horror-thriller directed by Scott Derrickson, who released the trailer on Twitter today:

Bullet Train and Spider-Man: Sony revealed exclusive footage of Bullet Train and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse at CinemaCon on Monday, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The general public can’t watch it yet, but here’s THR‘s descriptions of the scenes, including one that ends with Bad Bunny’s “explosive” fight scene with Brad Pitt in Bullet Train.

Paging Mean Girls Fans: Emma Gerber’s spring fling hairdo did not take “hours” to style, despite Cady Heron’s remarks that it looked like it did. We heard this directly from the actress who played Gerber, Jan Caruana, who revealed on Twitter that it actually only took one hour. Earth-shattering information, I know.

Censorship Update: Disney has refused Saudi Arabia’s request to cut 12 seconds of dialogue about lesbian moms from Dr. Strange 2,  Nawaf Alsabhan, Saudi Arabia’s general supervisor of cinema classification, told AFP. Alsabhan denied that the reason the country would not show the new Marvel film was because of a gay character played by Xochitl Gomez, and said it was banned solely because of the 12 seconds of dialogue.

Bodies Bodies Bodies: A24 released the trailer for its upcoming slasher/thriller starring Pete Davidson, Amandla Stenberg and Lee Pace, and honestly, it looks amazing. Watch here:
