While our festival targets the independent spirit of filmmaking, we have entries with well-known actors such as Tom Hanks, William Shatner, Christina Applegate, James Marshall, James Russo, Andy Dick and Martin Sheen, as well as many up-and-coming filmmakers. We expect over 1,000 films to be submitted in 2006. They will be reviewed by our professional panel of screeners and jury members (consisting of agents, distributors and producers). We plan to screen an estimated 50 independent films with an emphasis on quality rather than quantity during our five-day event. The 50 Official selections will compete for a variety awards, including distribution opportunities. In 2005, we had special guests speaking with attendees at Q&A sessions and seminars. Some of our guests included: Andy Dick (actor/writer), Marshall Cook (Director/writer), Chuck Rose (Director), Vanessa Ruane (Director), and Richard Michaels Stefanik (author of The Megahit Movies).
