For MacGruber I really wanted everyone to read the script. Some sets will have people who’ve been doing this for 40-plus years and they just show up. They don’t know or care about what they’re shooting. Every project you do is the thing you care about the most in the world, and you at least want them to know you care about it. Whether they care about it or not, you want them to know you’re going to be there killing yourself to get it right.
