Robert Rue

Who: New York City-based screenwriter, teacher, and basketball coach whose script Detroit won the Drama category at AFF 2015. Now titled Roar, the project is in development, and Rue is currently negotiating an option deal on his high school basketball script Knowing Jack.

His Big Break: “I wrote fiction for a while until it dawned on me that some of my stories should be screenplays. I got a foothold in the business when a long-shot recommendation connected me with an agent at ICM who loved, and wanted to rep, Knowing Jack.”
