Fantastic Four: First Steps is flooding the internet. Coming on July 25, 2025, the release date has been teased to the audience for quite some time now. True Marvel fans have already booked their tickets. I know I have because there is going to be a long queue. I mean, Pedro Pascal is in it.
Matt Shakman, the director of the movie, is a big fan of Marvel’s first superfamily. To be specific, Fantastic Four. This is how manifestation works because now he is directing this movie. Honestly, I can see his vision and passion through the trailer. With that said, I am genuinely rooting for this movie.
I truly appreciate his sincerity in trying to revamp the MCU universe. Instead of relying on studio sets, he picks real locations. This makes the content more relatable to the audience. He even said in an interview that ‘Practical approach is the best approach. As a filmmaker, it’s best for me and the actors. The audience loves it as well’.
Additionally, the camera effects and videography are promised to give audiences a Marvel movie that they can truly live in and not just look at. Now, that seems strong and truly what was lacking in the recent Marvel movies.
In an interview, Matt Shakman also stated that ‘A lot of our inspiration is what Stanley Kubrick did in the 60s. Well, we build miniatures, and we have a gorgeous miniature. It’s 13, 14 feet tall as their ship, and we have shot beautiful shots of it.’I know for a fact that the visuals will feel 100% realistic.
Although Matt Shakman is quite popular for his directorial ideas. His big works include specific episodes of Game of Thrones and The Boys. Fantastic Four First Steps is going to be his first Marvel movie. Earlier, he had worked on Wandavision. For newbies, this is also a part of the Marvel universe. However, that was a series, and this is a full-fledged movie.
With that, let’s not forget there are also other amazing stars in this movie. Vanessa Kirby and Joseph Quinn are one of them. As far as I remember, Marvel movies have always been big with their star cast. This time too, they have cast amazing actors who have always nailed the roles they are in. I hope they do the same for this movie.
How Audiences Reacted To Fantastic Four First Steps Test Screening?
Just before the movie’s final release, Marvel conducted a test screening. Usually, it takes place at Comic Con, but this time it occurred at Regal Beach. The responses? Well, they are new and unexpected.
Some say the movie was ‘meh’. Poor CGI can be one of the reasons. Surprisingly, there are positive reviews for the villain Galactus.
So, finally, we Marvel lovers are getting an epic villain character, which was long overdue. Now, of course, I did not get to see the test screening myself, but seeing the trailer, I do agree with some of the reviews.
Also, I wish the directors would put in more effort and thought into this. After all, this is not the first time we are getting a Fantastic Four movie.
Even the 2005, 2007, and 2015 releases were not major hits. Since Fantastic Four is a super family movie, I, just like everybody else, had higher expectations. Also, knowing the backstory of how much these characters are loved, all of these films fail to bring that idea to fruition.
How Many Of These Claims Are True?
Although I have heard so many rumours about it, I am going to keep my fingers crossed until I see the movie myself. Let’s not jump to conclusions based on reviews and trailers only. I guess fans have more expectations from this movie, which I have as well. However, after a deep dive into the internet myself, I concluded that most of the news on the internet is fueled by hatred.
Just after the reviews of ‘Mid’ surfaced online, a lot of these were debunked as false. Other people who have attended the test screening said that it is a misinterpretation. Apparently, it is not what the internet claims it to be.
The release date is near, and a lot is happening, which we won’t know until we see it ourselves. However, one thing I do know is that I am going back to play Marvel Rivals for the time being. I mean, the movie can fail me, but Marvel Rivals never.
Right now, Marvel Rivals Lattice Cheaper upgrades are allowing me to make a big comeback in the game without burning a hole in my pockets. This prospect has helped me enjoy the game to its full extent.
Also, Fantastic Four joined the Marvel Rivals early this year, so it is perfect to revive those moments in the game before the movie. If you’re a fellow Marvel Rivals player, then you know what I’m talking about.
