Donald Glover
The 39-year-old actor-writer-musician-comedian-everything was born at Edwards Air Force Base in Edwards, California, where his father was stationed, and grew up in Stone Mountain Georgia. His father became a postal worker, and his mother was a daycare provider.
He moved to New York City to attend New York University, where he became a viral sensation making videos with the Derrick comedy team, which also performed at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. (He later helped fellow NYU alum and UCB performer Aubrey Plaza launch her career.) He landed a writing role on 30 Rock, then a starring role on Community before creating the brilliant Atlanta (above), and then the recent Swarm.
