Dr. Benjamin Stoner: Todd Phillips dug deep in the DC Comics crates for this one. Stoner is a former head doctor at Gotham’s beloved Arkham Asylum, who first appeared in the comic book Doctor Fate #1 in 1987. Joker’s brief inclusion of Benjamin Stoner is interesting, because Dr. Stoner is by no means a major character in the DC Universe. But he does have a funny name.

You forgot to include "Conquest for the Planet of the Apes" from 1972. The end riot scene, with Joker being pulled form the back of the crushed police car, laid out on the hood of another vehicle and then rising to his feet as the night sky burns with flames and the crowd's anger, recalls the last 15 minutes of "Conquest for the Planet of the Apes" without question.
