Twilight, adapted from Stephenie Meyer’s highly popular romantic vampire novel for young adults, doesn’t open for another two weeks but avid fans are already counting down the days until the movie’s release. According to Fandango.com, nearly 100 show times are already sold out across the country, from Sacramento, California to Gainesville, Florida. Twilight currently accounts for 63 percent of all ticket sales on Fandango, outpacing those of High School Musical 3 at the same point in that film’s sale cycle (two weeks before the release date).

Fandango has also revealed some interesting new statistics from their ongoing Twilight moviegoers survey: 31 percent of Twilight moviegoers are 17 and under; 28 percent are 18-24. By contrast, 16 percent are 35-49 and only 3 percent are 50 or over. 92 percent of respondents said the trailers and online clips for Twilight made them want to buy a ticket.

With its massive amount of Fandango pre-release ticket sales, Twilight looks to become one of the biggest hits of the fall season. The movie, directed by former production designer Catherine Hardwicke (Thirteen, The Nativity Story) and starring Kristen Stewart (Into the Wild, Panic Room) and Robert Pattinson (Harry Potter‘s Cedric Diggory), opens nationwide November 21st.
