Logline: A passionate holiday romance takes an unexpected and sinister turn when an Australian photographer wakes one morning in a Berlin apartment and is unable to leave.

The length of the shoot was: five weeks.

Our crew size was: 40

The first spark of an idea for this movie came: from a book.

Budget range: $2-5 million

An audience watching my film probably won’t know that: we shot in Berlin and Australia.

An influence or reference on this film was: German contemporary photography.

The weirdest or most difficult location we shot at was: Berlin.

The most expensive thing in our budget was: snow.

The biggest lesson I learned making this movie was: make what you like.

My favorite film festival moment in my life so far is: Oberhausen [International Short Film Festival].

I would love to meet the chair lift in Park City.

  • After reading a couple articles in this new issue, I am becoming convinced I should allocate some of my budget for VFX! I am writing and directing a film about a cyber relationship between a man and a woman across two different galaxies, though one is unsure which lives on Earth, and I'm struggling with transitional scenes across the Milky Way.
