Urbanworld
September 19-23, 2018 / New York, NY / urbanworld.org
“What I love about Urbanworld is that it highlights voices that usually go unheard,” says a panelist. “The filmmakers that attend this festival are welcomed with such love and generosity that you really feel like you belong.” While a bevy of insider experts on financing, distribution, and marketing certainly help make the fest’s industry activity feel inclusive, Urbanworld’s focus on diverse programming, along with its constant redefinition of what it means for stories to be “urban,” fosters inclusivity in a broader social and cultural context. Urbanworld’s Manhattan-headquartered action includes The Stand, a live pitch platform for diverse content creators where teams screen a short selection and pitch their project to a panel of investors.

Have you heard about the Flickers - Children's Hospitals International Film Festival (CHIFF)? This new and growing festival provides a free program of new and amazing short films to the patients of children's hospitals in the US and Canada (and soon Europe) and its the kids who vote on the award winners at each two week hospital event. CHIFF is part of the Rhode Island International Film Festival. CHIFF was recently endorsed by the US Surgeon General who said that great films are great medicine. How cool is that? You can find CHIFF on Facebook and Twitter using @FlickersCHIFF.
How about calling it "Our reviewers 25 favorite festivals" -- for these are festivals that your jury has presumably been to and likes -- and that's fine. To call it the world's 25 coolest is a wee bit presumptuous, no?
Only 5 from the 25 are not in the USA and Crystal Palace International Film Festival (cpiff.co.uk) which is actually known as the UK's coolest festival is not even mentioned!
CiNEWORX is proud to Sponsor and Partner with SFF for 5 years running providing Digital Content (DCPS) for the Fest! Congrats SFF for making it 3 years running as one of the top 25 COOLEST FILM FESTIVALS to attend.
