Teens Win Big with the Dibs Bite-Sized Film Fest

As the sweltering humidity is quickly making its presence known, Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream has come up with the perfect cooling solution.

Like the saying goes, all good things come in small packages. In this case, it’s the deliciously popular Dibs® ice cream snacks.

Dreyer’s is teaming up with MTV for the Dibs Bite-Sized Film Fest, a contest exclusively for talented yet undiscovered teens. The film fest is calling for young aspiring moviemakers to create 30-45 second videos illustrating how they Do Dibs Instead™. While the top ten highest rated videos will be placed as finalists, only one moviemaker will receive bragging rights for the top prize- $10,000 and their short film aired on MTV.

To enter, contestants must upload their videos onto www.dibsfilmfest.com. Contestants are then able to access the “editing room,” where their idea transforms from a mere concept into an engaging movie. By utilizing the video library and Mash-Up Tool, contestants can add more video clips or even a soundtrack to assure that their film will stand out among the rest.

Finished films will be viewed and rated by the public at the Dibs Bite-Sized Film Fest Website. Though there is only one grand prizewinner, the film fest gives every young moviemaker the opportunity to showcase his or her creative ability.

So what are all you young Scorsese’s waiting for? Grab your video camera, run to your local supermarket, and beat the heat with the Dibs Bite-Sized Film Fest.
