Leonardo DiCaprio
Did you think that ole’ Leo was immune to missing out on roles? The Titanic star famously turned down the part of Tom Ripley in The Talented Mr. Ripley, opting to do The Beach instead. Ripley ultimately went to Matt Damon, who was hot off the success of Good Will Hunting. I personally think DiCaprio would have made a better Mr. Ripley, but what do I know?
DiCaprio also turned down the role of Dirk Diggler in Boogie Nights, which ended up going to Mark Wahlberg. DiCaprio had to choose between that and Titanic, so ultimately it seems like he made the right choice there, even though both are great and successful films.
