Sissy (2022)

A terrific Australian horror film by married duo Kane Senese and Hannah Barlow (she’s also one of the leads), Sissy follows a wannabe influencer named Sissy (Aisha Dee, above) who goes on a getaway with a long-lost childhood friend and several others. She shares a very unexpected connection with one of them.

Sissy gleefully offends not only with over-the-top violence (including a tire scene that earned an applause break in the theater where we saw it) but also by breaking all the safe rules of modern horror movies about who can and can’t die.
