Nominations were announced today for the Screen Actors Guild Awards, which will be presented to members of the Hollywood acting community on January 27, 2008. The nominees are pulled from features released theatrically in the year 2007.
The nominees for Best Actor include: George Clooney (Michael Clayton), Daniel Day-Lewis (There Will Be Blood), Ryan Gosling (Lars And The Real Girl), Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild) and Viggo Mortensen (Eastern Promises).
For Best Actress, the nominees are: Cate Blanchett (Elizabeth: The Golden Age), Julie Christie (Away From Her), Marion Cotillard (La Vie en rose), Angelina Jolie (A Mighty Heart) and Ellen Page (Juno).
Supporting Actor nominees include: Casey Affleck (The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford), Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men), Tommy Lee Jones (No Country for Old Men), Hal Holbrook (Into the Wild) and Tom Wilkinson (Michael Clayton).
In the running for Supporting Actress: Cate Blanchett (I’m Not There), Ruby Dee (American Gangster), Catherine Keener (Into the Wild), Amy Ryan (Gone Baby Gone) and Tilda Swinton (Michael Clayton).
Unique to this awards ceremony is the Ensemble Cast category, which honors all acting members of a movie. This year’s nominees for the category include: 3:10 to Yuma, Hairspray, American Gangster, Into the Wild and No Country for Old Men.
