The nominations for the 16th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were announced this morning at the Pacific Design Center’s Silver Screen Theater in Los Angeles. Early Monday evening, 4,200 Screen Actors Guild members filled out the last of their secret ballots from Voting Integrity Systems, voting in eight prime-time television and five film categories. Precious, Up in the Air and Inglourious Basterds led the way, each film receiving three nods. Surprisingly unregarded went Rob Marshall’s Nine, which was expected to garner multiple awards but only managed a Best Supporting Actress nomination for Penélope Cruz.

The Screen Actors Guild Award nominations come solely from the actors’ peers, who are divided into two randomly selected panels—one for television and one for film. This year’s SAG Awards will simulcast nationally on TNT and TBS, Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 8 p.m. EST.
