Wakanda Forever Trailer Reveals New Black Panther

R.I.P. Sacheen Littlefeather; a House of the Dragon spoiler from nine years before House of the Dragon; the new Wakanda Forever trailer reveals the new Black Panther; Billy Eichner urges everyone “who ISN’T a homophobic weirdo” to see Bros. All in today’s Movie News Rundown.

Sacheen Littlefeather: The extremely brave Native American activist and actor, who took the stage to decline Marlon Brando’s Godfather Oscar in 1973, has died at 75. She said two weeks ago that she was “crossing over to the spirit world” and “not afraid to die.” Here’s our appreciation.

The New Black Panther: The new trailer for Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, includes a huge reveal about the person who will replace T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) as the Black Panther, protector of Wakanda. I’m all in.

Four Big Changes from Game of Thrones to House of the Dragons

Margaery Tyrell and Joffrey Baratheon, dropper of a House of the Dragon spoiler

That’s So Joffrey: Did you know that Joffrey, that little creep on Game of Thrones, dropped a major House of the Dragon spoiler back in 2013, nearly a decade before the Game of Thrones prequel debuted? He did! It’s the most popular story on our site right now.

Bros Box Office: Parker Finn’s debut horror film Smile opened wide (sorry!) to $22 million this weekend, to the delight of Paramount. The film stars a psychiatric doctor (Sosie Bacon, who a mere one degree of separation from parents Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick) who, after witnessing a patient’s bizarre suicide, experiences increasingly traumatic horrors involving lots of toothy smiles.

Pride: Bros, the all-LGBTQ rom-com starring and co-written by Billy Eichner, pulled a disappointing $4.8 million, according to Deadline. Eichner tweeted yesterday: “Last night I snuck in and sat in the back of a sold out theater playing Bros in LA. The audience howled with laughter start to finish, burst into applause at the end, and some were wiping away tears as they walked out. It was truly magical. Really. I am VERY proud of this movie.” He noted that “even with glowing reviews, great Rotten Tomatoes scores, an A CinemaScore etc, straight people, especially in certain parts of the country, just didn’t show up for Bros. And that’s disappointing but it is what it is.” He added: “Everyone who ISN’T a homophobic weirdo should go see BROS tonight! You will have a blast! And it *is* special and uniquely powerful to see this particular story on a big screen, esp for queer folks who don’t get this opportunity often. I love this movie so much. GO BROS!!!”

An Apology: As a regular weirdo, I want to apologize for not going to see Bros. I did listen to Billy Eichner on Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend while doing some yard work, and he was funny, and I made a note to try to see Bros someday, but I just couldn’t make it this weekend, because, again: yard work. Not homophobia! Just busy. I didn’t see Smile either. No offense. Maybe next weekend?

A Reminder from Jamie Lee Curtis: Hard to argue with this.

Sacheen Littlefeather’s Oscars Speech: Here it is.
