It’s becoming a ridiculous cliche to feign constant outrage or signal how much tougher people supposedly used to be by lamenting that today’s audiences just couldn’t handle the movies of yesteryear. And yes, this silly gallery is poking fun at that.

The honest truth is, when we went through all 96 Best Picture winners to find movies that modern-day Hollywood would never make, because of baked-in plot elements that would set off social media conflagrations, we only found seven. And, we’re not gonna ask you to click through another gallery.

The seven films are: Gigi, Crash, Gone With the Wind, Silence of the Lambs, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Driving Miss Daisy, and Dances With Wolves.
