One of the first rules in film school that they teach you about low-budget filmmaking is “No kids, no water, no animals.” I guess we had to learn that lesson for ourselves. Pictured, left, is co-writer/DP Alan Blanco, suffering under a homemade raincoat that his camera assistants Nicholas Huynh and Josh Flannigan made him, while I hang on for dear life trying to catch a glimpse of the onboard monitor. I was lucky not to suffer from seasickness, but several of our cast and crew members were not so fortunate.
