Karey Kirkpatrick knows kids. Since graduating from the USC School of Cinema and Television in 1988 Kirkpatrick has made a name for himself in Hollywood as a writer of children’s movies like James and the Giant Peach, Charlotte’s Web and most recently 2008’s The Spiderwick Chronicles. Now, with Imagine That, a family comedy about a business executive (Eddie Murphy) who’s career is at the mercy of his daughter’s imaginary world, Kirkpatrick takes his place in the director’s chair for his first time helming a live action film.
