The early lineup of the 15th annual Cucalorus Film Festival was just announced and, as expected, it’s a pretty eclectic bunch of movies—running the gamut from uproarious comedies to searing Southern dramas. Taking place November 11 – 15 in Wilmington, North Carolina. Cucalorus is a truly unique festival and was recently named by MovieMaker as one of the 25 “Coolest Film Festivals.”
With more than 800 entries worldwide, the films will be categorized into six festival programs including Buzz (highlighting the best movies from the festival circuit), Magnolia (celebrating the finest in Southern moviemaking), Voices (honoring socially aware and politically challenging films), Discovery (offering breathtaking works by innovative moviemakers), Midnight Madness (reveling in the weirdest, most bizarre cult flicks) and Spotlight U.K. (featuring the best contemporary and emerging UK moviemakers).
While a full festival schedule won’t be announced until early October, here’s a sneak peak at some of this year’s lineup.
