Just when you thought you knew everything about the Twilight films, the producers have gone and made a switch: For the third film in the series, Eclipse, the role of Victoria, a member of James’ coven, will no longer be played by Rachelle Lefevre. Although Lefevre will be appearing in the upcoming New Moon, scheduling conflicts have forced her to pull out of the third film.

Lefevre’s role will be taken over by Bryce Dallas Howard, spawn of Ron Howard and star of such films as Terminator Salvation, Lady in the Water, The Village and Spider-Man 3. Erik Feig, Summit’s president of worldwide production and acquisitions, in expressing his excitement for Howard becoming a new addition to the series says that “Rachelle brought ‘Victoria’ to great screen life and Bryce will bring a new dimension to the character. The franchise is lucky to have such a talented actress as Bryce coming in to fill the role.” However, for fans, it might be too soon to be excited about Howard, as they still anxiously await the second installment in the series, New Moon, set to be released in November.
