It may be an obvious choice, but this list would not be complete without The Notebook. Gosling recently revealed that director Nick Cassavetes told him he cast him as the lead specifically because he had “no leading man qualities,” which is laughable in retrospect as Gosling has become one of the biggest heartthrobs in modern Hollywood history and is certainly a leading man.
