Never Been Kissed (1999)
This romantic comedy takes a much less realistic approach to journalism. Starring Drew Barrymore as Josie Geller, a 25-year-old copywriter at the Chicago Sun-Times, Never Been Kissed follows Josie as she goes undercover for the newspaper, posing as a high school student for a report designed to help parents understand their children’s lives. Of course, going undercover and pretending to be someone you’re not involves misrepresenting yourself, which is a big, unethical no-no for real-life reporters. But it makes for an amusing movie plot.
