Described by Justin Chang of Variety as a “vital destination for moviegoers,” AFI FEST 2019 presented by Audi returns to Los Angeles from November 14–21, offering unprecedented access for audiences across L.A. to top awards contenders, boundary-pushing indie films, a daring new documentary section and the best of the year in world cinema. This year’s festival features more than 140 films, of which 51 percent are directed by women. Also included are inspiring conversations with bold and innovative storytellers, including the standout Indie Contenders panel, which it has hosted for the past several years.
