From French-Senegalese director Mati Diop, Atlantics is a hypnotic and haunting mystery that uses magical realism to tell a supernatural story about immigration and exile. The first film in competition at Cannes directed by a black female director, this striking and poetic feature debut follows Ada whose love has left Dakar, alongside other exploited workers for a better life in Europe.
