starring Tom Cruise, Bill Nighy, Tom Wilkinson, Kenneth Branagh & Terence Stamp

PG-13; 120 minutes

The is the true story of the 15th and final—and certainly the most exciting—attempt to assassinate Adolph Hitler during the final year of World War II. When the plan of Major-General Henning von Tresckow (Branagh) failed, Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg (Cruise) was recruited by General Friedrich Olbricht (Nighy) and anti-Nazi politico Ludwig Beck (Stamp) to try his hand at removing Hitler from power. Von Stauffenberg had plenty of high-ranking officers on his side, and by means of blackmail was able to enlist the support of General Erich Fellgiebel (Eddie Izzard) at Hitler’s Prussian fortress, where the assassination was to take place. It was also important to gain the confidence of the head of military operations, General Friedrich Fromm (Wilkinson) as well, and von Stauffenberg thought he had it. In fact, he thought he had succeeded in his efforts. But as we all know, something must have gone wrong… and did it ever!

DVD Extras: two-disc has commentary, including Singer and Cruise; featurettes (“The Journey to Valkyrie” and “The Valkyrie Legacy.”)
