directed by Michael Bay
PG-13; 150 minutes
The Decepticons have been around for centuries, but have remained dormant. Now they have returned to Earth with force, on a mission of revenge. The Autobots, in conjunction with the military, must gather in order to stop them from putting the finishing touches on our planet by blowing up our Sun. But first the Decepticons must capture Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf), who just before leaving for college, comes across a shard that causes him to hear and see things that will lead them to the powerful tool needed for their cause. While at school, Sam teams up with his girlfriend (Megan Fox) and his roommate (Ramon Rodriguez), who leads them to a dishonored government operative (John Turturro), able to answer many of their questions. The special effects are awesome, especially during the climactic battle between the heretofore thought dead Megatron and Optimus Prime. Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson are featured as the U.S. military men up against the machines.

DVD Extras: 2-disc has commentary; extended scenes; multi-part documentary The Human Factor; featurettes.
