The top spot at the box office this weekend went to Limitless, which earned $19 million in its first weekend. Rango held onto its number two spot from last week with a weekend gross of $15.3 million (total gross $92.5 million), while last weekend’s number one, Battle: Los Angeles, came in third with $14.6 million, bringing its total gross to $60.6 million. Two new releases rounded out the top five: The Lincoln Lawyer came in fourth with $13.4 million, and Paul‘s $13.1 million gross was enough to get it to fifth.
Other new releases this past weekend were Win Win ($153,615), The Music Never Stopped ($88,500), Bill Cunningham New York ($33,744 in just one theater), Winter in Wartime ($16,157), Cracks ($9,150) and Desert Flower ($8,039).
Next weekend’s new releases are Sucker Punch and Diary of a Wimpy Kid; Rodrick Rules, with Julian Schnabel’s Miral, Peep World, Potiche and White Irish Drinkers out in limited release.
