The American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) has chosen to give their esteemed Board of Governors award to actress Annette Bening. The award, which will be presented to Bening at the 22nd annual ASC Outstanding Achievement Award ceremony on Saturday, January 22, is designed to celebrate “individuals who have made significant contributions to advancing the global art of filmmaking.” ASC President Daryn Okada says that the actress “has earned the respect and admiration of our members. She is an extraordinarily talented actress whose collaborative spirit and demeanor inspires everyone around her to reach for the stars.” The Oscar-nominated actress joins the ranks of past recipients of the award such as Robert Altman, Sally Field, Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg and Bening’s husband, Warren Beatty.
