It champions for Indian queer cinema by providing opportunities for young filmmakers to produce and distribute queer films.

In April 2010 , Solaris Pictures was one of the Principal Partners in organizing India’s biggest queer film festival, for the very first time, in a mainstream theater creating history. In December 2010 & January 2011, it organized FLASHPOINT Human Rights Film Festival that provides a platform for screening and raising a dialogue about critical human rights issues like child trafficking, homophobia, war crimes, forced disappearances, religious intolerance, etc.
