From Closing Night of the 2015 Slamdance Film Festival comes Yosemite, the feature debut from writer/director Gabrielle Demeestere, who discusses the film in an exclusive clip from the festival. Meanwhile, multi-hyphenate (and star of Yosemite) James Franco recounts his own actorly education.

Yosemite takes place in Palo Alto, 1985, as three fifth-grade stories are carefully intertwined. It’s Boyhood meets Stand By Me, a coming-of-age drama that explores friendships, hopes, dreams, and fears as a dangerous mountain lion terrorizes a local community.

Writer-director Gabrielle Demeestere shares her childhood memories and their influence on the making of Yosemite.

Actor James Franco talks about the importance of networking and building a filmmaker community.
