Ron and Bryce Dallas Howard Partner with Canon

Moviemakers, it’s time to use your imagination. Canon, a leading brand in digital imaging equipment, has launched a “Long Live Imagination” campaign, which celebrates the creativity of Canon consumers. Canon has teamed with Academy Award-winning director Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind) for “Project Imagin8ion” where photographers were invited to submit photographs—eight of which will be chosen—to inspire a short film executive produced by Howard and directed by his daughter, actress Bryce Dallas Howard (Hereafter, The Help).

Ron Howard sees “Project Imagin8ion” as an “opportunity to collaborate with the masses, tapping into consumers’ creativity and using their photos as building blocks to produce a film.” Bryce adds that it is an honor to partner with Canon, “a brand that is empowering young filmmakers and is at the forefront of technology.”

Those who missed the submission deadline (June 14th) can still participate in the online semi-finals (which end on June 23rd) by choosing your favorite photos in eight categories: Setting, Time, Character, Mood, Relationship, Goal, Obstacle and “The Unknown.” The Howards, Canon and the Canon community will narrow down the submissions and chose one photo from each category to serve as the inspiration for the short, to be shot on the Canon DSLR. The photographers of the eight chosen photos will attend the red carpet premiere in New York and have the opportunity to meet Ron and Bryce.
