Profiles in History Auction—

While the holiday season is all about the spirit of giving, sometimes it can feel like the season of headaches as you ask yourself, “What the hell do I get that person?” But if you’re looking for a present to give to a movie lover, you can save those Tylenol for your trip to the in-laws because Profiles In History, the nation’s leading dealer of guaranteed-authentic movie and TV memorabilia, has just announced their 33rd Hollywood auction that has everything from the “Luke Skywalker” lightsaber and original on-screen puppets from The Nightmare Before Christmas to First Editions of The Lord of the Rings signed by J.R.R. Tolkien. The yearly auction is being held December 11, 2008 with the bidding beginning at 12:00PM (PST).
According to Joe Maddalena, owner of Profiles In History, the auction may be a great way for movie and TV fans to relive the wonder and excitement of their past. “It’s all about memories, taking us back to a time, perhaps an event with a long lost relative who took you as a kid to see Star Wars,” he says. “The baby boomers have come into the spending part of their lives. They have had success and are collecting their childhood.”
And while some of the memorabilia is on the pricey side, the look on your father’s face as he opens up his gift to find the original “C-3PO” droid helmet will surely be a priceless moment he’ll never forget.
