“Girl in the Hallway”

I worked with a micro budget of $765. I am self-taught and all the doors were shut in my face. No one was going to give someone like me money.  I had to be zen about working without a budget. The best lesson I learned through the production is that the only thing that limits you is your artistry, not your budget. I just used what I had lying around the house and focused on telling a good story. If the story is good, your audience won’t care about the smoke and mirrors; you gave them magic. Also. Don’t. Give. Up. Ever. No matter how dark a place you find yourself. Just don’t give up. —Valerie Barnhart, director
