The Festival and its associated Film Market is ranked as one of North America’s largest. It is also consistently noted as one of the most moviemaker friendly and finest organized short film festivals in the world. Last year, six shorts from the Festival’s 2004 line-up went on to become Academy Award nominees. The 2004 Best-Of-Fest Winner won the Oscar for Best Live Action Short. This year, 20 cash awards will be presented in eight competitive categories – over $30,000 in cash, film stock and production services will be awarded! This is an Academy Qualifying Festival.
