The festival, now in its 11th year has received much media attention in Memphis and the surrounding area, and has proven that Memphis is indeed a hot-bed of independent filmmakers and film-lovers alike.
The On Location: MEMPHIS international film & music fest will screen a diverse program of features, documentaries, music video, animated and short films and will host Q&A sessions with the filmmakers and seminars with industry pro¬fessionals to further promote the film & music arts. Past guests for the festival have included Morgan Freeman, Holly Hunter, Isaac Hayes, Cybill Shepherd, Richard Gladstein (producer of Pulp Fiction, Cider House Rules), Alan Blomquist (producer of Walk The Line, Chocolat, Beautiful Girls), Andrew Deane (producer of See Spot Run and the “Joan of Arc” television series), actor Leo Fitzpatrick (Kids, Storytelling, Serendipity) and Academy Award nominee, Don Hertzfeldt. Films from around the globe have been featured including Academy Award nominees Rejected (Best Animated Short) and Promises (Best Documentary).
